04:59 am - Betelgeuse http://www.livescience.com/space/090609-betelgeuse-measurements.html
It's shrunk by 15%, I'm hoping it has already gone nova, and that the light from it will reach Earth in the next 30 years or so. If it has gone nova, the light from it would likely be brighter than the moon is at night, and would shine for months, even being visible during the day. I would LOVE to live during that. It would probably be the brightest supernova ever recorded.

02:16 am - Hrm I have friends trying to convince me to write, to put my ideas for stories down in book form and I dunno, publish them or something. I dunno who is crazier, them, or me for considering giving it a try. It all started when someone said I should write sci-fi, and then others said I should. And now I'm thinking about it. I have something like 4 story ideas that I've come up with over the last few years, though three of them would really only work as short stories rather than a full novel. The fourth though.... that could be worked with. I'm crazy. I don't think I could do it, I can't write well, if I got published I'd worry about being critized. On the upside, maybe I just think I write bad and I actually don't, or not as bad as I think I do anyway. And I could make money. I hate having deadlines though, and if they expected more books out of me I dunno how I would handle that either.

05:12 am - Hmph I just re-read the Harry Potter books again, and sometimes I wonder why I do it once a year. Everytime I reach the last page of the 7th book, I just get disappoint that there won't be more. I don't have that with other books, but with Harry Potter I'm just craving more when I know that, at least for the forseeable future, there won't be more coming.

04:42 pm I spent some time outside today (it's cooler out there than it is inside) and I discovered something just by sitting in my backyard, there is a pond somewhere nearby. A dragonfly flew overhead, and they need a pond or some kind of standing body of water. If it evaoporates too quickly, they may not survive. I checked google maps and there are three ponds nearby. I also spotted 2 different species of jumping spider. A few weeks ago I saw a rabbit as well.

01:39 am - Oh noes, I is hated. A few days ago on Anywherebb, we were having this conversation about how religion is taught in schools in Poland. I made a comment about atheists and how it must suck for them, being forced to take a class on it (Apparently, they do have another class instead). And then someone comes along out of the blue and says "dont mean to be rude but I dont like atheists". I promptly said I was one, and he proceeded to feel sorry for me because I wasn't christian. I almost told him "That's okay, because I don't like you either" :3=

12:26 am - Frakkin' best show on TV Galactica is over. And the worst part is, I still have questions! Well, one question. There was something that still baffles me, and I don't know if it will ever be explained. I did find out that they're gonna be making a two hour movie (Directed by the guy who played Admiral Adama), that will tell the story from the Cylon point of view at the start of the series, back when they bombed the colonies. It looks interesting. There was also a short preview of Stargate Universe, I didn't see enough to have much of anything to say about it though. I think they messed up somewhere and didn't intend to air it, because it said "Preview for Caprica!" and then it was Stargate. Current Music: All Along The Watchtower

02:40 am - Sight I'm already starting to get used to wearing my glasses. The only time I forgot to put them on was when I took them off for something and then walked off to watch Battlestar Galactica. I sat there for like 10 minutes before I remembered. There's even a noticable difference when using the computer. I can't imagine ever going without glasses again.

02:19 am - Climate change I've noticed an increase in climate change news lately, it seems to have gone up since Obama took office, but maybe it's always been this way and I haven't noticed. Anyway, I read this one here and it shocked me. http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/front/la-sci-warming27-2009jan27,0,2633118.story
A hundred years of polluting the atmosphere has irreversibly changed our planets climate for the next thousand. I mean, I knew things were bad and getting worse, but this is just wow. I read another that said that it will take another 2000 years for ocean currents to take all the warmer surface water and replace it with the cooler water from below, and that if things continue as they are, by the year 5000, over half the ocean will be a dead zone, which means that it won't have enough oxygen to support higher lifeforms. That would lead to ecosystem collapse, and then bacteria that could start producing poisonous gas. The last time something like this happened was the Permian Extinction, which killed off 96% of life in the ocean, and 70% of the life on land. Though it did give rise to the dinosaurs. Anyway, it would be bad. Rant over :3=

03:08 pm - Live Journal is borked While I DO love a picture of Dean Winchester, that's not supposed to be there. Others may, or may not see it this way, but I cleared my cache and reloaded and everything, and my Hydralisk icon is showing up as a Dean Winchester icon with *glee* in the corner. 04:23 am - Wow.... I have 34 characters across 18 different servers in World of Warcraft. Which means I just went and got the 4th anniversary achievement 33 times. The 34th character is a place holder for my Death Knight, so no one takes the name I want.
Character breakdown
Classes:
Mages: 3 Warlocks: 2 Priests: 2 Hunters: 8 (saw this coming a mile away) Warriors: 4 (one of them will be deleted as the place holder character is a warrior) Paladin: 1 Druids: 5 Rogue: 7 Shaman: 2
Levels:
Level 1: 9 Levels 2-10: 10 Levels 11-57: 9 (only one of which is above 25) Levels 58-69: 2 Level 70: 4 (only one of them is mine)

10:45 pm - Orcs, Zombies, and two awesome people in the same body. Wrath releases here in a little over an hour, and now I don't know if I should stop playing WoW until I get it, or create a special chat tab to get tells in and ignore everything else. Because I can't afford to get Wrath until next Thursday.
